Affidavit of Support

I am getting ready to submit our I-130 to the consulate in Ankara (DCF) My Sister and Brother-in-law will be the co-sponsor. I need to make sure that I have this all down pat...

1.- I will be the primary sponsor as I am the petitioner.and will of course be completing the I864....

2.- My Brother-in-law will be the co-sponsor and will be completing the I-864 ( Do I, the petitioner need

to sign on this form at all or just my Bro-in-law?

3. My Sister has income as well and if need be, she would complete the I864A, is this correct?

If my Bro-in-law's income is sufficient, then we really don't need to use her income and worry about the

I864A correct? If we do use it, on the last page part 2-Sponsor's PROMISE... it asks to PRINT name and

then it has a space for the sponsor's signature... don't mean to sound like a Moron WHO SIGNS HERE ME

the Bro-in-Law and then Part 3 Household Member and to print name... OK got that part.

and on the bottom of that page it asks for the Sponsor's signature again... who signs there... ME or

the Co-sponsor (BRO-IN-LAW) .... (God The government isn't very practical)Would My Sister have to sign anywhere if we do indeed use her and complete the I864A?

Yes... I am a bit paranoid... am here in the USA to gather documents and get domicile "stuff" set and

will be returning to Turkey in a few days and dont want any pitfalls or surprises... as things are much

easier to gather from her in the good ole US of A... If I can get some in depth help with this I would

greatly appreciate it....

:bonk:

You sign your I-864. Your joint sponsor(s) sign their own forms/promises.

Each of you is a sponsor. And each of you is bound by a sponsor's contract.

To be safe have your sister complete an 864A. If not needed, no problems. There have been some folks here on VJ that have needed to have a joint sponsor's spouse complete an 864A to essentially demonstrate that they (the "non sponsoring spouse") is aware of the commitment the joint sponsor is making.

Oh Thank you!...

Just to clarify... even though the form I864A says "sponsor's signature it actually means that she (sister... the household member) signs as the SPONSOR... then we will have 3 forms... 2 I-864s and 1 I864A

all which need to be signed by the one that is completing that particular form... THINK I GOT IT NOW.. Phew

Where would I be without Visa Journey  ....?
