Tim is wondering if he needs to have his income tax return notarized, as supporting evidence for the I-134 Affadavit of Support. I thought I'd read that somewhere in here, but can't find it now. If it needs to be notarized, who could do it for him?

No need for it to be notarized. USCIS does prefer the tax return transcripts. They are free of charge.

Hey Tim and Erin,

No, the income tax return does not have to be notarized. I just had my interview a few weeks ago, and not one of our supporting documents was notarized.

Good luck on your upcoming interview!!!

Tim did order transcripts, but we're not sure he'll get it before my interview date. So he's bringing along his last year's tax return. He has other supporting documents as well for the Affadavit.

MSR: Did you have the tax return, transcripts, or both?

Thanks for your replies. :)

both, but it wasn't necessary at all

If he calls the IRS and has access to a fax machine, they will fax them right away.
