Does the USC get a copy of Packet 3?

Okay, so I know I already posted a question about P3 today.... but that was BEFORE my fiance checked the mail!

So, he read to me what each paper said, and it's exactly what Packet 3 is supposed to be... the checklist, then talks about the interview, and medical, etc..... BUT I haven't received that yet, but he has.

Is the petitioner supposed to receive a copy of P3 as well? He said the envelope is addressed to him, but the letter inside is addressed to me.

Either way, I haven't gotten it yet, so he is scanning it and emailing it to me so I can print off the checklist and send it back ASAP!

Has anyone else had this happen?

Right, but I guess I was wondering why Montreal sent it to him as the petitioner, and not me as the beneficiary.

Either way, I'll find a way to send it off this week, it just didn't make sense.

no the usc doesn't receive packet 3 - the beneficiary does.

i'm not sure which you are but, all the information that is to be filled out in packet 3 pretty much pertains only to the beneficiary..

yeah, I'm the beneficiary, so I was thoroughly confused as to why he got a copy of P3...

oh well. he's going to scan it all and email it to me.

I thought it was odd.

huh, yeah ,,that is odd. maybe with all the other changes being made with montreal - this is another? or possibly, just an error - since the letter was addressed to you...

guess as long as you get everything turned in it won't matter in the long run, knock on wood ; )

I read other people talking about the USC receiving a copy of it (not sure if it was written by Canadians or not). I always wondered myself after reading that but virtually no one mentions it so I kind of forgot.

Received CR-1 visa: February 2017

Oh really? I had never read that before, so I wasn't really sure....

and it seems odd, considering it went from Montreal to California quicker than it went from Montreal to Nova Scotia, since it hasn't arrived there yet.

ah well. at least it's a copy of P3. Tomorrow I shall get new passport photos done and scan & print DS-160! wahoo!

well from what i know the benefiiciary gets the packets and all paperwork after the approval. Unless of course you have a lawyer then they would get it and forward a copy to you. the ony time my USC fiance got anything was when he called about it and they sent him a "complimentary copy".

yeah, it seems somewhere along the lines, MTL or someone messed up, and sent it to him. I'll stop looking for it in the mail.

Ugh. I hope it doesn't cause problems along the way.

I (petitioner) received a copy of Packet 3 a couple of days after the beneficiary. Not really sure why.

My mama just emailed me and said they received a copy of P3! Not sur why it took longer to get to NS than to California, but there's Canada Post at it's finest.

Phew! crisis, averted haha
