Then why do you care who is elected?

Because the BEST way for people to have the opportunity to improve their lives is for the government to get the H*LL out of it! Democrats more than anyone else want to control as much of our lives as possible so Republicans represent the lesser of two evils...but they ARE evil also as they just want to control a little less...and different things.

I also care because for many years our congress has been more stable than the Soviet Politburo was. We have far less turnover of incumbents, usually, that they di in the Soviet Union. Any time the incumbents get kicjked in the teeth it is a good thing...just in general terms. True, there may be a good one that gets hit by the splatter...but so be it. Bacially ANY time the PEOPLE can kick the ####### out of POLITICIANS, I am a happy camper! They occasionally need to be reminded who is in charge and elections need to be more than just "Technicalities"

It also shows the electorate is energized and paying attention (Dems hate that) which is a good thing. All of this is necessary if we are ever to return to a smaller role for government OR have the people desire a smaller role for government.

If you believe that the GOP is any different, I give up. Neither group does what's best for the country, only what's best for their stupid party line. They don't serve the people, they serve their party.

TRUE! which is WHY I like to see a PARTY get their @ss kicked all over town. We did it to the Republicans 4 years ago, we will do it to the Democrats in a couple days. they will either get the MESSAGE or people WILL get fed up and go for other choices. Like it or not the Tea Party is really very Libertarian and are going with Republicans largely by default. Expect that to change. Things like WILL eventually result in a weakening of the party stranglehold on our government.

So if the GOP wanted to do what's best for the country they would voice some input into the current affairs instead if saying no on every issue. Perhaps come up with a proposal or two and some compromise could be made? You can't get two people to agree about everything let alone every member of Congress.

Spooky, the Republicans could not "say no" and DID NOT say "no". Republicans stood back and let the Democrats do what they would do. AT NO TIME have the Republicans stopped ANY proposed legislation. The allowed the leaders to LEAD and they lead the country right into the weeds. Now the Dems have no choice but to "blame" the Republicans. Until the Dems lost Kennedy;s seat in Massachusetts, the Republicans could not even mount a filibuster in the Senate. Then the Dems found a way to get around that. The only poeple that held up the agenda were OTHER Democrats trying to get something for themselves in the deal.

There was no compromise because the Dems didn;t want one because they didn't need one. Obama never had ONE meeting to make a compromise with the Repubs but he had to make all kinds of deals to get Democratic Senate votes.

Now, this whole thing is the Dems idea, it is all their baby and the Repubs were clever to give them the rope to hang themselves.

The Dems are doomed for a ong time and that will not change as long as they think we voted FOR Republicans instead of AGAINST them.

"Dems lose" would be present tense. I am saving that for Tuesday. On Wednesday it will be "Dems lost"
