My question is regarding G. Selective Service Registration # 33

The question asks if my husband has ever lived in the U.S. between his 18-26 birthday in any status except as a lawful nonimmigrant? I chose YES, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

He arrived right before his 24th birthday with K1 visa. Once we got married we immediately filed for AOS and then ROC. So should the answer be YES?

He is registered and we have that SS # that we provided on the application.

I need confirmation...I'm nervous now that the application is complete and I'm going to send it off. Thanks in advance!!

If you answered NO to question 33, you move on to question 34, but in your case the way you described it, should answer Yes, and since your husband did register for selective service you fill in the date he registered and his selective service number.

He will be fine since he has registered.

My wife had two counts against her with question 33, she was not between the ages of 18 and 26, but I could live with that if she was, second, she was not a male, that I couldn't live with if she was. So we answered NO and put in N/A in those two boxes.

In case you were wondering, a lawful nonimmigrant is like someone here on a tourist visa. Kind of dumb they added that as with a K1 Visa, your husband was here as a lawful immigrant, but the selective service doesn't take place until he became a lawful permanent resident or a green card holder as they say, even though that card hasn't been green for many years.

Thanks guys! I was confused so I looked at the example here and on that form they checked YES and put down the Selective Service info. I feel better now.

If you have a SS#, then mark yes and write it in as well as the registration date. That's all that there is to it.

I shot a 10 shot 3/4 inch group at 50 yards on Wednesday. The guys at the gun club said I should be drafted into the army as a sniper. Hopefully they won't get me for the Iran/Syria/North Korea/Venezuela/Georgia/Taiwan wars as I can remember the Beatles' first record coming out and I was on honeymoon during the first moon landing.
