Hello,

Looking for assistance from who who has done this document processing through the Military side of UCIS.

Have been married for 5 years, just returned back to the USA to be closer to her family. Wife used to come and visit me many times over the last 5 years while in the E.U. Has had U.S. Army authorized documents from USG/Germany HQS for dependant ID Card. Now new AF Form 1172 has been issued for her and her son to obtain a replacement U.S. Government Dependant ID Card through the embassy closest to her.

Have been told the necessary military documents to substantiate her association with the Government and a couple other routine documents. Anyone who can assist me with this process? Documents will be different, this I know...processing is immediate with no waiting time however according to instructions looks like I need to send our I-129F & I-130 for her and her son through the Chicago drop box instructions highlighting "Military." Most I see here have gone through the Vermont location, how did this happen, you had a choice, or was this automatically forwarded?

In cutting down the absorbant fee's $1600 together (her & her son) which would include a K-3 and K-4, after arrival (To file to chg status), vs. I believe I-130's first then the I-129F, for $355 ea. am I viewing this correctly? Suggestions?

FYI, Fee's for processing I am told will change 23 November....

Thank you

K-3's are nearly obsolete as of February 2010. You can save time and money sticking with only the IR-1 visa (requires only the I-130 petition for each intended immigrant).

However, if you insist on trying for the K-3/4 then you are looking at the petition fee structure wrong... I-130's first and should you choose the I-129F it is fee waived for a K-3/4. The $355 fee is for a petition for a fiancee

Thank you, the fog is clearing a bit more :-) I will look into this IR-1 further. As far as the I-129F, the document states to substitute fiancee for Spouse if this pertains. Understand more the fee issue...Wife is looking more towards February time frame (After the holidays) as the boy graduates week before X-Mas (Latin America), believe better to have the I-130 approved 1st then go for the visa (Since was told not a waiting period for me on the I-130's).

Thanks again!!!
