Christmas plan.....

Since, I just got new job in other state, I couldn't spend Christmas in the Philippines, though its the initial plan. I probably spend Christmas at work because of my schedule. LoL. But I will definitely try to have Christmas with my husband.

I feel kinda envy to those who will spend Christmas in the Philippines. It's merrier in the Philippines esp. the New Year celebration. I miss puto bongbong, bibingka and hot beef goto with tokwa't baboy. I miss waking up early to complete the 9 morning mass. I miss the loud Christmas song of every neighbor.

needless to say...i slept on the couch the the evening of the 26th

Always wise to listen to bossing.

Last Christmas we were in the Philippines, this year we'll be snuggling up nice & warm at the Top O' The World here in Barrow, Alaska! Quite a change but nice all the same! :)

That sounds wonderful!

You guys are lucky. I'm not even sure if my hubby and I will get to see each other this Christmas. He's currently in the US and jobless so he doesn't have money for plane ticket and my papers are still being processed so I have no means to go there. However, if he had money, we plan on spending it in the Philippines, sort of our last Christmas here before settling down in the US.

That must be difficult, not being with your husband...especially during the holidays. (F)

I hope you get your papers processed soon!

OH MAN I ENVY YOU...LOL...I HOPE MY PETITION IS APPROVED BEFORE CHRISTMAS...BUT I GUESS WE MIGHT CELEBRATE OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS TOGETHER IN PUERTO RICO...

Hopefully, your petition will be approved soon! We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Spend Christmas at work? Do you work in health care?

I agree. It does seem more merry there, though. There is just too much good food to list.

Nope. I work in an energy industry, and the operation is 24 hrs. I've been doing shifts and I'm not sure if my schedule falls on Christmas.

We're spending Christmas and New Years in her hometown. Christmas is both of our favorite time of year! We had originally planned to be married on December 10th of this year, (we've since pursued the fiancee visa instead) because it's near the middle of both of our birthdays. I guess it was going to be our first Christmas as a married couple, but life has a way of changing your plans without your say-so.

I'm pretty excited about spending the holidays in the Philippines!

I will be spending x-mas alone. This year, my job put the week after x-mas as a blackout period.

Normally they only blackout the week after thanksgiving but last year just about everyone requested the x-mas week off & it was a mess (a lot of people didn't get what they wanted), so they decided not to give anyone off this year - unless it was an "emergency".

But all that will change starting January 1st, They will approve holiday weeks off based on seniority (currently it is first come first serve). I am the most senior person at my location - so I will be getting first pick.

I was originally planning on spending Christmas with my wifey in Quezon City. BUT with airfare creeping up on $2K, I can't afford to make it. We're just going to wait til the fares drop after the holidays, and spend a late Christmas in Boracay.

Yeah, we really love all the fireworks, too! I'm sure your neighbors are happy you brought your Santa.

I see. You're basically on-call. Well, I hope you'll have a Merry Christmas still.

You're gonna love it! Just stay safe during the holidays. And good luck with your K-1 journey!

Spending Christmas alone? Damn, that sucks... Bright side is you may be spending a belated New Years. Enjoy your time off!

I hear you... We booked our Christmas flights last April. Luckily, we were able to get $980RT/pax. Now, it's like $1200+RT/pax!

Enjoy your time in Boracay! I haven't been there. My dad vacations there regularly, and is learning how sail-boating.
