Hello Visa Journey. Been awhile, but here I am again.

We have filed my wife's I-751 and her current 2 year green card is due to expire November 19th 2010. Will this effect her seeking employment since the green card will eventually look "expired".

We havent received an NOA yet, but our checks have been cashed.

You will get an NOA 1 (receipt of extension for 1 year) here soon since your check have been cashed. The NOA 1 extends your green card for 1 year and makes you eligible to work. Also, if you do not get this notice you can always make an infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp. Also, many people on here have traveled with the extension and expired green card so you have no need to worry.

Your wife should not get any other treatment besides the one she should as a LPR. No employer should discriminate against her temporary status (being a NOA type).

In USCIS's database, your wife's GC expires Nov 2011 and not Nov 2010 (since you applied for ROC and received a 1 year extension) and no one can argue otherwise.

HTH.

small correction :) the greencard will still expire Nov 2010, but her status as a permanent resident is what's been extended till Nov 2011. This is just to ensure the OP doesn't think the plastic card is is extendable or sufficient without the extension letter.

Wife's I-130:

03/15/2019 NOA1 (Nebraska Service Center)

02/11/2020 Case transferred to Vermont Service Center

02/02/2021 NOA2 الحمد لله

02/04/2021 Approval email
02/12/2022 NVC documents submitted
