So i filed my AOS back in May, and waited until august to get my bio letter for an appointment in September. In June my case was transfered to CSC. I have been watching as many people who filed after me have been approved all the way up to July applicants. Needless to say, i'm pretty bummed about this. So i called uscis to find out what gives since i seem to be outside processing dates.

I was originally told by uscis that it is 4 months. However with uscis forgetting to put me in the appointment scedule for my bio and delaying it by 2 months i figured once i had that done i'd be approved for my green card. well no not yet. It seems if you are transferd to CSC, the waiting period starts all over again. so i lost a month. A very nice lady told me they are currently working on May 30th applications, and she has no idea why i was transfered. She also does not know why people who applied in July and were transfered are being approved before me.

She cannot even put in a service request for another 30 days as the computer is telling her i'm still within processing times. So far it's been 5 months so basically i have to wait 6 before i can find out anything. So much for my transfer letter saying they sent it to CSC " to be processed faster".

I just dont get it. sigh.

this is really helpful information, thank you! i have been wondering the same exact thing, and am on close to the same timeline as you.

one question for clarification - when you say they are on May 30th apps at CSC, do you mean original submission or the date they were transferred?

Always consider applying for AP and EAD, it's free (for now) with the I-485 application and you never know how long you may be waiting for the GC, College will be on hold till that is received and some states no longer allow EAD to be used for Driver's Licenses. It's best to focus on what you can already do. CSC may not mean faster processing in some cases, unfortunately it's the luck of the draw.

I did apply for EAD, if you notice from my timeline that was delayed as well. because they forgot to put me in the scheduling system. my bio appointment was only in september. 4 months after i applied for aos. pretty sad if you ask me.
