i am helping a friend out, she just get the NVC letter and get the number and she is doing the AOS(Affidavit of Support). she just paid all the fee. is there a way to check the status of her case online? like uscis.gov.

06-29-2010: Sent I-129F

06-30-2010: CSC receives package

07-07-2010: CSC NOA1 Dated.

07-08-2010: CSC Check cashed.

07-12-2010: Received Hard Copy of NOA1.

10-27-2010: Touched.(I hope it means they work on my case.)

11-16-2010: Touched.(Come on NOA2, Day 132, still waitting)

11-16-2010: NOA2 Dated.

11-22-2010: NVC DAted.

11-26-2010: NVC to Guang Zhou Consulate

12-17-2010: GZC issued the P3.

12-24-2010: GZC sent out the P3.

12-25-2010: We got the P3 from GZC.

12-25-2010: GZC Got the P3 from us.

01-28-2011: P4

02-11-2011: Medical.

02-14-2011: Paper Work intake and Fingers Print.

02-15-2011: Interview!!!

02-14-2011: US time, We got PINK, Best V-day gift ever.

03-02-2011: POE LAX.

Unfortunately there is not a portal that would give case staus like what the USCIS offeres. Now what I can say is that after making the payment thru the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center you can check to see if the payment were process and showed as being paid after a day or two. This would be the portal that youwould get your receipt cover letter etc. After all the items submitted to the NVC received and processed then after a few weeks your friend would get an error whil trying to sign into the payment portal and would day - Sign in Fail. This is often the clear indication that the case is compeleted and soon an interview would be scheduled... few weeks to months depending on the consulate that is involved.

I would like also to check our case status. Recently, we have submitted all the requirements needed by the NVC (AOS, DS-230, CIVIL DOCUMENTS).How long would it take for us to wait before our interview/medical will be interviewed. Please help me.

the ds-230 takes about 3 weeks to be reviewed currently... and then allow est. 1 week for final review. If your case is completed i think oct. 25 - nov. 5.. you could be given an interview in december BUT ONLY IF YOUR CONSULATE isnt busy and back up with scheduling... so it could be several weeks to months. Check the reviews for your consulate.
