Hey all,

I'm still waiting on my NOA2 but I know I should start working on stuff now so that my fiancee has this stuff before she needs it. I'm a little worried however. See, I was a student for the past 4 years, and only worked under the table for maybe a few grand the first three years (therefore no W-2s), and started working on the books for the school bookstore last year, but still only for a few grand, which I have a W-2 for. This year I have a full-time position with the same bookstore, and make a few grand less than the 125% needed, so I am going to ask my sister to co-sponsor. My question however is, since I just don't have substantial financial support from the past, and simply didn't file taxes at all for a while, since i didn't have a "real" job, is that going to cause me a problem? I will have the last few pay-stubs, since I started the full time position, and will have a W-2 for last year (for almost no money at all) and a letter from my employer stating what I make now, will that be enough?

My sister is a teacher and makes quite a bit of money, and has for several years, so I know her proof of support won't be a problem, I'm just worried about my own. Please set my mind at ease if you can.

I will think that as long as she co sponsor will be ok and you can always declared you were student for the past yrs good luck..

Have people done that in the past? Declared they were students and not had big issues?

Hi, I had same situation plus I lost my job the same week I sent our petition. First thing get a co-sponsor that meet the poverty guide lines and do not worry about it any more. Our interview in Kiev was last week and we were successful.

What they took

1. Me and my co-sponsor I-134

2. My co-sponsor W-2 of 2008 and 2009

nothing else!

We had, bank letters, pay stubs, employment letter, but with the W-2 nothing else was needed.

Good luck

A W-2 is the yearly statement of wages, taxes and tips etc that a person receives from an employer. It's received from any employer a person has had during a given year. Most people use this to file their income tax.
