Expired Green Card

My husbands green card is expired, but he got a notice saying that it's good for another year. We have our I-751 interview on October 28th, 2010 and we plan on leaving for Denmark December 07th- January 11th. Is this going to be a problem?

I left and re-entered the US with the extension letter and my expired GC quite a few times. It was never a problem. If your concern is receiving the approval while you are away and then returning, my example is having my Conditional GC approved and sent while I was out of the US but using my Advance Parole document to re-enter. That was never an issue, either. In any event, you can certainly mention it to your interviewing officer to see what they have to say.

You'll have your 10-year Green Card before you leave, not that you would need it.
