Hello there,

I am a LPR and I have applied for my wife and my 2 children (a 5 years old boy and a 1 year old girl).

Now I have to send the I-864 for them.

The problem is that I have no income/ no job in US. I only have assets, that was the selling of my house, but its only 82% of 5x27,562.

Another problem is that I don't have a co-sponsor.

What can I do?

I am a company owner in Brazil and have contrats of my projects that can be done as home office, in US. Can this enter as income? Can just take my salary and convert to US Dollars (more or less 5,000.00 month)?

I am desperate...

US taxes on worldwide income. So you will likely need to file returns for the years that you have been an LPR. You will need those for your affidvavit of support.

Right....So in my case, I have to file just this year, for 2009 correct?

I know that here is not the place to ask, but where and how do I make the tax returns? Will I have to pay anything?

The deadline for the tax return was around April 15. You will have to contact the IRS to find out if you can get an exception.

But I really need to file the tax return even if I did not make money in US?

As I said earlier, the US taxes on worldwide income. So the answer is yes. Plus it is needed for the affidavit of support that you are required to submit.

I would also think that it would help you to try and keep your green card as it seems that you are not actually living in the US.

It looks like it is time to educate yourself about taxes and immigration. Saying that you didn't know won't be an acceptable excuse.
