This session will focus on strategies and tactics for coaching two key employee groups found in every organization: the 'high-potentials' and the 'B and C' players. Urgh. Interesting that they are calling them 'high performers' now instead of 'A players'. A company I worked with tried to implement this, with the result that my boss and some of the other senior management walked out of the off-site meeting where they were to determine what category all their employees fit into. It died right there, thankfully. Can you imagine how demotivational it would have been for someone to find out that they are considered a C player?

I was just in my manager's office with my cup of Starbucks. I finished it while he was yakking and I walked around his desk to throw it in his garbage can. He looked at me weird, as if I was so out of line. Personally, I think I just catapulted from C to B with that move :jest:

That is a pretty weirdo thing to do.

I've never heard of this A, B, C player mumbo jumbo.

Me neither but I am not in the "working world".

I think someone is going to fired over this coffee in the garbage business. What a sad way to go!
