I rang the embassy this morning and they said they were sending my husband his packet in the post today.

My question is, what documents will be in there, will I need to send him an I-864 or will we need the I-134? Also I know I need to send him any and all evidence of our marriage, pictures, plane tickets etc. Am I missing anything? Can anyone who has gone thru Dublin give me any insight on what to be expecting, interview time, etc. Other embassy info will be great to hear as they may be similar. Thanks in advance...

Sherry

Good News. Most likely, it is I-134 and yes, send all that you mentioned plus email, phone records to your husband for evidence. Good Luck.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Thanks Simple, I just wanted to be sure of what forms I needed to fill out and post off to my husband, I want him to have them as soon as possible, so that there will be as little waiting as possible.

Why don't you find out whether you will need I-134 or not for the Embassy interview and then prepare it accordingly. That way, you will be 100% sure.

Hi Sherry

Great to hear things are moving along. If you check THIS VJ link to the Irish Embassy, it tells you what's in Packet 3. Now, I updated the info so it's more in relation to K1's. I'm not up on the CR/IR visas, so maybe his packet might be different? Anyways enough babbling! Here's what was in my Packet 3:

* DS-230 Part 1

* DS-156, Non-immigrant Visa Application

* Information Sheet-Evidence which may be presented to meet the public charge provisions of the Law (Affidavit of Support forms) For me this was the I-134

* Medical Instructions and list of Docs names and addresses (The VJ link also has these)

* Checklist for interview

* Notice of Readiness

Hope that helps!

Thats brilliant Amanda, thanks, I just wanted to have all our bases covered. Niall has been working as many hours as he can so he is pretty wrecked when he gets in, the last thing I want to put on him is more paperwork. I am gonna work on all the stuff that I can tonight and the weekend so I can post it to him straight away! Thanks again!
