Thanks for the warning, My Fiance is suppose to be on Skype in about 7 minutes and I was going to give her the 001 website, maybe I will wait on that.I have been giving her as much info as I can, but sometimes she doesn't understand, so I just keep telling her the same thing in different ways. I will check out the other websites mentioned, Thanks everyone for your input. Bill

Eh - it's ok - no worries. Time for chicken feet? :D

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

be warned...

Much of that info there is outdated,

Wholeheartedly concur. My fiancee had found that site on her own and I came to distrust information from that site in a hurry. For example, that site posted an I-129F cover letter sample that included things that were not required (copy of her passport) and included a form the USCIS no longer uses (FC-029). Also, that site had a sample G-325A form that was incorrectly filled out. I came to VJ and the confusion was cleared up with regards to filling out the G-325A.

I'm also assuming that it is this site that says it still takes 2-3 for the CR-1 process to work it's way through (my fiancee told me that when I was contemplating the course switch). While that was the case in the past (hence the reason for the K3 visa), it's not really the case now. I told her that I would not have suggested CR-1 if the time to process did in fact take that long.

and

There's a 'perpetual game' going on there - with some senior members that love to f#*k with newbies - to

give them the wrong information and

force them into doing things the wrong way.

The sad part, or sadder part, really - is that

since it's a Chinese Woman giving advice to another Chinese Woman -

the 'advice' is taken as gospel, always. You may find yourself actually arguing with your wife on some issues, on things she's learned at the 001 forum. She'll think she's right, because of that predeliction for a Chinese woman to believe another Chinese woman first, before listening to even her husband.

Be VERY, VERY, VERY cautious about giving this site to any Chinese fiancee because there are a lot of women on this site who give bad advice and love playing "big sister" and causing trouble.

Agree with Darnell and garfield529. I'll give a sample on inaccurate information that comes from there. When she was filling out her G-325A, she initially left the birthplace of her parents blank and gave me this reason, "a sister told me that if I fill that out, they will ask me about my parents, so if I don't put anything, then I won't get asked." I responded by telling her the US Government does not like to see fields blank for no reason and would get suspicious. She ultimately did not fight me on it and wrote in the information that was asked for. I felt what she had been told about that was dubious to begin with. I posted a thread on VJ asking if anyone else had heard of that and the replies I received confirmed my feeling that what my fiancee had been told was indeed dubious.

The conflicting information was one of the contributing reasons as to why there was a change in course from K1 to CR-1 in this journey; There were many other reasons, but this is just one of the parts of the whole. Even though we have a straightforward case, this switch was the best thing to do.

Continued best wishes to all of you, wherever you may be in your journey!:D
