A contract caregiver is a job! you get paid it is an income. =)

you can use them as paystubs, also would be helpful to have a copy of the contract for the work or have your employer write you up a letter of your work if you have no formal contract.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Sounds like your an independent contactor like myself. You'll be required to submit your income tax returns for the last three years and the "total income" is how they will determine your earnings. It would also be helpful to have who ever contracts you to write a letter stating how long you have been contracted and how long they wil continue to contract you. If your "total income" on your tax returns is not above the poverty level, you should consider a joint sponsor.

Hmm... I just started with them in January, so they're not on my tax return from last year. Do you think a letter from them would be enough? If they put down my salary and stuff? I know it's well above the poverty level. As for the contract end date, there isn't one. Since I work with an elderly lady, I guess it'll just be until her conditions worsens, or when she passes away which I'm sure won't be for a very long time. Should I still submit a co-sponsor form too just in case though?

Is your interview coming up? If not, could it maybe take place next year? If so, you should probably file for the 2010 taxes and submit your three latest tax returns. They are more interested in seeing the latest financial information to make sure that you can support your fiance.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

Actually, I'm hoping that the interview will be sometime in Nov. So I'll still submit my 07, 08, and 09 returns. My 07 and 08 income was pretty high, but last year was pretty low cause I didn't really have to work. Do you think last years low tax return will affect their decision even though right now I'm making a good amount?
