Hi,

Am a US Citizen and my wife is Indian citizen. My daughter born 2 weeks back in Hyderabad, India.

My wife's IR-1 processing is in progress in US Consulate, Mumbai. We are planning to relocate back to US in April 2011.

Can you help me on below questions please ?

1. As per other the info from web and consulate, my daughter is eligible to get US passport.

Anyone knows the exact procedure ?

2. After taking US Passport in Mumbai, do we need to take any visa for the daughter to stay in India ? If yes, what is the

procedure to obtain such visa ? Do we need any other visa for her to exit India ( i.e while travelling back to USA )

3. Am sending IR-1 packet 3.0 of my wife to US Consulate, Mumbai. DO I need to include my daughter's name in item 14?

4. Any other things which I need to consider or am not aware of ....

Please help me on this.

Thanks

Sri

go to the Mumbai consulate website.... it is called "Consular Report of Birth Abroad" or CRBA... each consulate handles the processing differently so go to the site for your research

YMMV
