I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum. But I am doing a k-1.

I'm trying to get my boyfriend to take digital pictures of himself so I can print off the correct us size for him(and to avoid the post delay).

can anyone tell me if this picture is alright, or is it too dark? thanks!

They look Just ok but I would advise you to have professional ones done for K1 as you talk about losing time , well if they don't like these then you have to do it all over again.

They need to be done by proper passport photographer eg post office or camera shops do them too.

It does not say where you are from so it is hard to know where he should go. We all had to go through and have them done, but I would advise not to do them yourself for such an important reason

You don't have to get them done professionally - I did my own photos for the entire process.

What you need to first do is follow these guidelines.

Your photos are almost "ok" - they just need to be brighter in color (more light) and you need more light on the background, to avoid shadows. (they are to dark now)

They need to be sharper (the camera should be at least 3 mega-pixels. (more focus)

You will also want for him to brush his hair into place.

Other than that - you will need to ensure that the sizes needed match up (eye distance from top/bottom/etc..) - but they seem to fall into place.

Print them out at a photo store kiosk - using they highest resolution you can get.

I have seen worst photos get accepted than these.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I am wondering, if you don't have the money to pay $12 Australian so what maybe 20 pound then how will you afford all your immigration fees.

But I do wish you good luck with the 129f all the best, I hope your pics are ok

I'm counting the fee for the 129f atm as already spent. so remaining money on my person is very low(least on my end until i get my paycheck which is this friday.). On his end, it's a long story; But he has money, but no way of getting to it at this given time(which he will have sorted out by the time it's his turn for the fees).

When I got the pictures printed they appeared alot brighter then when viewed on the screen. Couldn't see the tiny shadow on the right side anymore as well.

Reason I'm rushing is because all the paperwork was dated August 4th when I visited him. Which everything was ready aside from pictures and documents on my end. I don't know how long I can keep the paperwork without mailing the package(I believe I read 30 days but i can't find the source...).

But thank you for the help and the wish of luck. :3

It's never a good idea to rush things. Rushing things means that things will get missed or not done properly. I hope everything works out for you and they accept your photos, but be prepared for the possibility that they won't.
