Hi all -

Just wondering if I am supposed to receive anything from the NVC? Do they send a notice with our new case number or anything like that? Or a notice when they do send it to the embassy?

I know that everywhere on VJ says to call for the new case #, status, etc, but that's not working for us: they refuse to give us our new case # over the phone. They have the beneficiary's birthday wrong, but they will not give us the new case # unless we can verify my fiance's (incorrect) birthday that they have on file. which is obviously impossible. (we think this is a data-entry mistake on their part, and we emailed an faxed copies of his birth cert and passport, but it has not been fixed.) every time i call, no matter who i talk to, all they can say is, "We cannot discuss any further details of this case with you."

anyway, since they will give me no info over the phone, i was just wondering if i'd get any in the mail... especially since reading about people being chosen for 'AP' -- it would be nice to know if we were stuck in that or if we're moving forward...

Thanks!

wow i though u guys had already fix that issue i read it a couple of weeks ago and was shock..i will advise for u to contact uscis and let them know..good luck

Yeah, literally within an hour of finding out about the mess, we emailed/faxed/mailed to them scanned copies of his docs... that was 2 weeks ago tomorrow, i think. whenever i call they tell me they "process emails in the order in which they are received" and that there is "no time frame" for processing changes. ugh.

i didn't think to try the USCIS because i thought we were done with them, but i will try that approach tomorrow. thanks for the suggestions.

Good news: I got an email today from that NVC saying they had processed the change. Of course when I called they still told me i had the wrong DOB, but this time the woman was nice enough to check the file and see that it was, in fact, correct.

So they finally gave me our new case #, and they said our case was sent to the embassy on August 17th! (we still haven't received any mail from the NVC or the packet from the embassy, but whatever, at least things seem to be moving..)
