Hello,

Just a general question about the forms sent to the embassies as part of the Packet 3. If there's a problem with one of the forms, do the embassies normally contact the applicant about it before scheduling the interview, or is there a risk of an embassy holding the interview and telling the applicant about the problem at that time?

What seems to be the problem and what form?

No specific problem that I can think of. I'm just being paranoid about it. I'm pretty sure we got all the right forms and everything filled out correctly.

Don't panic then if you have your interview already scheduled then you have sent in all the required docs yes? They will send you a letter if they need anything else for you to take to interview. If the petitioner is missing forms they don't necessarily tell you before they will tell beneficiary at interview, which is what they did to me. I am beneficiary in Australia and all my docs were in order that I sent in with pack 3 and what I took for my interview. But my fiance (petitioner) had a decree missing and they only told me on the day of interview. The problem is it was all approved in USA by USCIS and all 3 decrees were sent in so we don't know what happened to the missing one.I was not happy as it has held my visa up.

You have to be a little careful here with the general understanding of what you are asking. If you are the USC then you are the petitioner. USCs are no longer allowed at the interviews so you need to make sure your docs are correct & complete. If something is missing or wrong they will end the interview & reschedual when you have the corrections made & submitted.

If by applicant you mean your fiance they could possibly contact her by email to remind her to bring what is missing but they may not either. If something was wrong or missing they will allow her time to correct it & reschedual the interview.

If in fact they did send a letter it could arrive long after the interview date as is the case in Thailand at times. A letter from the embassy sent to me arrived a month after I was in the USA.

Your fiance could buy a pin number at the post office & use that to call to check to make sure there was no problem with the documents. They usually will say they dont prescreen the cases. You never know with BKK.

I would be very surprised if the BKK Embassy staff spent any time reviewing the case paperwork well in advance of the interview such that they could send out a letter or an email notifying you and the fiance(e) of the discrepancy or problem.

More than likely the review is done the day of the interview and they will issue a 221(g) to the visa applicant even if the document missing is required of the USC such as a tax form or other documentation for the I-134 etc.

Good luck.
