My interview was about 10 mins, if that, they asked 5 questions about him and I, and about 12 questions about the game we met in.

Said congrats and gave me my welcome letter.

yeah see, that's what i was expecting. just a normal interview. oh well, now back to waiting.

thanks darnell, i didn't think about the credit report showing a link to my ex, only my finances...i guess cause of the obvious - my divorce decree! but, yeah i see what you're saying now..

i paid 400 bucks to get divorced, i had no lawyer and it was uncontested. the state of virginia requires a year separation and that's the only requirement. as far as the bad accounts are concerned - they're all seven+ years old and i was under the impression they'd be dropping off my credit report soon (it is only around $7,000 tops). honestly considering i take care of my son without any ASSistance from my ex - repairing my credit is something that i can only do a bit at a time (which is what i told the interviewer and she seemed to understand).

my fiance said the same thing, good thing i was there. it was more like MY interview than his or ours ; )

thanks for your comment darnell - i know you know your stuff!

Here's the thing - if the divorce decree listed the 'joint accounts' and 'who is responsible for what' - then you could have contacted the cmopanies via postal mail, with request to remove your name from any 'joint account'. A regular photocopy of the divorce decree, listing these 'things', would have been sufficient for a company to remove yer name off of the accounts, thereby removing the linkage on any credit history report.

Can't go back and fix it for 'consulate-specific-stuff', but you may wish to revisit this, in the future, as yer starting to co-mingle financial accounts with yer newish husband - and it would look really strange at any future 'removal of conditions' interview , when they pull yer credit history again - if that ex was still listed.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hello all,

My interview at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal will be on Oct 29 at 9am, just received an email from NVC yesterday. Can I wait and pick up my passport + visa one day or two days after my interview?

I have called Seiden for an appointment of medical exam, but finally there is no one to answer the phone and the message is in French, don't understand but I gave them my name and phone number, I guess that is what the French message wants me to do.

Is a medical exam on Oct 26 is long enough to have a result before the interview?

Thanks,

T

A few filers over the past year or so have been lucky and been able to pick up the next day but it is not the norm. You can always ask at your interview but I wouldn't count on getting a positive answer. Bring your Expresspost envelope to be safe.

I believe the medicals are ready in two days but Dr. Seiden's office can confirm for you when you book your appointment. Montreal Medical Appointments

Good luck!

I don't think Montreal offers the "pick up your visa the next day" service. I think you can only get it sent to you via Canada post.

Thank you very much for your answers. I have booked a day with Dr. Seiden's office. The medical is ready in 2 days at Dr. Seiden's office. However, it is ready in 3 days if you will have your medical done at Medisys. About the next day visa pick up, I am sure I will ask them at my interview.
