applying for citizenship with a conditional green card?

i'm sure you can but the question is can you get your citizenship while your I-751 is pending?

my green card expired in 2/2010 and they sent me a extension for 1 year but it is been 11 months since i applied to remove the condition and they are giving me round around, i even drove 200 miles to immigration office and the guy said the same garbage if i had call the 1-800 number, that, yeah you have to wait, i don't see any problem here ...

if you know the answer for sure please drop a line here

thanks

You will have to wait until that 10 yr GC(I751) gets approved first even if you have a conditional before you can apply for a N400. :star:

YES YOU CAN, and MATTER OF FACT it will force and push the adjucation of your I-751 case. Must mention on your cover letter that you have a pending I-751. I did that and it worked as I've filed for my N-400 while having pending I-751 one case and I am a proud US Citizen now :)

The only thing you need is the PR date on the Green Card (Conditional one or the 10 year one) and if it's 3 years minus 90 days then you can apply regardless what type of GC you have...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

God, I hated that I-751 process and we did apply precisely 90 days before the expiration date only to receive that stupid one year extension. Still dragging their feet on this?

Bunch of BS anyway, for our AOS, went through everything with a fine tooth comb. Then to read I was a sucker part of this board section. Guys that got creamed aren't helped at all by the USCIS and still held liable for that I-864, can't even get out of that. All the spouse has to do is to say their ex looked at them cross eyed or a hardship to return to their home country and stay here marrying that guy they really wanted in the first place.

Bottom line is if a person committed fraud, they don't do a damn thing about it to protect the sponsoring US citizen, and if there isn't, you are still guilty of it until you prove yourself innocent. Was hell year for us as other government agencies we had to deal with never even heard of a one year extension. Was a miracle that the guy at the POE did hear of it and let my wife back in the country, I was with her.

This prompted us to apply for US citizenship at the earliest time, we sent in both copies of her expired green card and one year extension. By some miracle, she received her ten year card about a week before her interview, after all that stress, she didn't keep it very long and didn't even want to surrender it, but did.

Whoever posted this, "You will have to wait until that 10 yr GC(I751) gets approved first even if you have a conditional before you can apply for a N400." is dead wrong, shame on you.
