All right, I just went through LingChe's NVC guide and got together all of the documents that I have, and made a list of the ones that I still need (including forms). I feel much more prepared to go see my husband on WEDNESDAY!!!

So while I'm there, I wanted to get his signatures on the DS-230 and DS-2032. Do you think it's too early for him to sign (and DATE, specifically) these forms? I guess I could just have him sign them, bring them back with me, and date them later. But I don't really want to do that. I also don't want him to have to pay $40 to FedEx them to me when we finally need to submit them!

What do you guys think? What are you doing in this regard?

I am seeing my wife this Wednesday as well! Hope you guys have a good time.

For the NVC process take a look at HERE :) I believe u meant DS-3032. Well choice of agent can be e-mailed by your husband when the time comes. The format of the e-mail is in the guide. About dating the DS-230 I don't know. I'm in the same boat as you are. I am going to have my wife sign the form next week and maybe leave the date open shhhhhhhh :)

Have you told your husband to get a police certificate? If not, do so immediately. And if his birth certificate is not in English have it translated. I know a company who does if anyone wants a link.

Well I can't be much help. I'm pretty sure my husband and I will be opting in for electronic processing so no mailing needed.

Well I believe even if you do it electronicaly you still have to scan the papers and e-mail them no? So a signature is still needed.

Yes but regardless you still have to sign and date the form :) so that he can scan the form you signed and dated,,,, so we are debating if we should leave the date blank so that when the time comes the petitioner can date it as if the beneficiary dated it :P

What do you guys think? What are you doing in this regard?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm visiting my husband in about a month (who am I kidding, I know exactly how many days are left until I see him again... it's 36), and I wanted to have him sign everything then. I was just thinking of having him leave the date blank and then writing it in myself later, but I don't know if that's acceptable or not. Alternatively, maybe he could put down a date that's close to/just after the estimated approval date? It might not work, but it could end up being close enough. Or you could just have him write down every number in really dark ink on a separate sheet of paper, and then trace the numbers on the form yourself when the time comes. :) It would be good to know what people think!

I hope that I can file my taxes ASAP in 2010...my 2009 income meets the requirements, and my 2010 does, of course (I have pay stubs), but my 2007 and 2008 incomes are embarrassingly pathetic! Ha ha ha.

Then again, I REALLY hope that my NOA2 comes SOOOO fast that it will be impossible for me to file my taxes in 2010 before navigating NVC!!!

Haha, I second that! Early Christmas present, USCIS?

When you e-mail the DS-3032 you can make him (the petitoner) the agent to send the papers needed cause usually that is what people choose to do. If you, the beneficiary, wants to send the papers than that is your choice :) I believe we got confused there :) cause I'm the petitioner and my wife, the beneficary, will send the DS-3032 and make me the agent. And I will send all the papers including the DS-230 that she signed.

Have you told your husband to get a police certificate? If not, do so immediately. And if his birth certificate is not in English have it translated. I know a company who does if anyone wants a link.

Ooops! Thanks for catching that--it was late! I already have my birth certificate, his birth certificate (and translation), marriage certificate (and translation), tax documents for the last 3 years, paystubs for the last 6 months (which I'll continue to add to), and probably more stuff that I'm forgetting about.

This week or next week we'll get his police certificate (and translation); he'll have time to do it since I'll be there. Then when I get back at the beginning of December I'll request a letter of employment from my job. So between all that and getting the signatures on those two forms, I think we'll be covered!

When I have time later I'll see if I can do a little digging to see what other people did about the signatures for the NVC forms; I'm sure we're not the first people to have this question!

I also noticed that the I-864 and I-864EZ forms posted on their website (Dept. of State or whatever--not VJ) expired in October. I hope they've updated those by the time we have to submit. I don't want to get a dumb RFE for using their expired form!

P.S. I hope you guys have a great visit too! We are definitely thankful for this visit this Thanksgiving!!!

The DS-3032 is to choose an agent to get mail FROM NVC. The DS-3032 doesn't choose who's going to be sending mail TO NVC.

Plus, even if my husband (the petitioner) had to send the DS-230 from his email account, it still wouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure if you know what scanning is. It involves taking a "picture" of the form, uploading it to your computer. You can then email this "picture" to anyone you want. If I had to, I would scan the forms I had to sign and date, and then just email the "pictures" off to the petitioner. I wouldn't have to mail the forms out at all.

I'm really sorry I forgot about you scanning and e-mailing them. I was thinking about my situatuion instead of thinking about yours more throughly. My wife dooesn't have a printer nor a scanner. So she has to go to a shop to get it scanned and e-mailed to me if needed and she is not the type who can do that easily. Plus she doesn't even like sending stuff like these in e-mails, just a personal thing. If it was me in her place no problem. I hope I can convience her into filing electronically. And yes I do know about scanning, I have had a PC since 1986. I wish I had kept it though, it would have been an antique one day :)

another touch yesterday. I honestly am on the edge of my seat every time i log into uscis.

so it got touched on the 4th, 10th, 18th, 19th, and 22nd.

I know i said getting touched doesnt mean anything, cos some people get approved, without seeing updates at all. but its hard not to follow it, I hope we don't get RFE or something worst, cos they have looked at our case alot. at least I think its alot.

just hoping any day now, we will hear something.....I know its still early for approval for august filers, I really wasnt expecting anything until dec or jan, you know i was expecting to wait the standard 5 months.

heres hoping

Leave a date open for all form. Because I864 and DS230 we just download from internet, so it is not problem if we prepare beforehand. Like me, I thought they will send those form with barcode like DS 3032, so I didnt prepare. Now my time is flying and Im sitting on fire rocks.
