What is it. What does it involve. Should I be getting something ready while I wait for NOA1?

NOA2 is the notice of action of your petition approval.

Should I be getting something ready while I wait for NOA1?

Not exactly. If you'd LIKE you can take some time and go ahead and start gathering documents that they will ask for in the next step (after you get your NOA2, the notice of your petition approval). That information is located in the guides above as well as in the embassy info so you can find out what information needs to be taken to the interview. Some examples will be the USC's proof of support (tax returns, letter from employer, bank statements, etc.) as well as the foreign fiance's police certificate and immunization records.

But, if you are still waiting for your NOA1, I would say you have a while before you need to start really heavily concerning yourself with the documents you'll need after your NOA2.

Be careful.

They are not "Notice of Approval"

They are Notice of ACTION

The first one you recieved (NOA1) will just be a notice teling you that they have opened the case and it has been registered in the system. It does NOT mean there has been a decision made.
