Death of the 'McMansion': Era of Huge Homes Is Over

It's true, I don't know why people rate that place so highly. To me the food tastes bland as hell except for the bread.

When my HG died off from my pregnancy we went there on our wedding anniversary, it was the first time I had been out the door in months. I only ordered a salad because I couldn't eat much, had no alcohol to drink and the server was just damn rude the entire time after we ordered. Not been back since, won't be going again.

I had 1000 times better service just going to Golden Corral ffs lol Mind you the food tasted really salty there as well.

In general the quality of restaurants here has gotten so bad I'd rather buy some nice meat and cook it at home and share the dishes. My cooking skills are pretty meager but coming out better than the last few restaurants we went to, there's only so many corners worth cutting.

I need a good curry :( None here for miles unless Kathryn knows one hiding somewhere

How can it taste bland when it's coated in and swims in salt? It's not bland, it's icky.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Yeap that's usually what I get - lasagna. Their lasagna didn't have too many flavors at all.

I don't think the taste of salt is bland. The fact that it doesn't taste of much else is something else again, perhaps that's what you mean?

Let's just say it doesn't taste like lasagna. Good lasgna is very flavorful and anything short of that - i'm calling bland.

I agree with bland. If someone straight off the boat from Italy wandered into the Olive Garden, I'm pretty sure they would gouge out their taste buds with the dinner fork.

Speaking of Chinese food - we keep trying the local places here in hopes of finding something as good as in California.

OK - here's the dealio -

Hang out at a few gatherings of the Chinese Students Associations, at the universities close to you. ASK THEM where THEY EAT...

'americanized chinese menus' - taste like azz, and most chinese won't hang out there, more than once.

Failing that (excursion to their meetings), look for the resturants with menus in chinese. That's the real dealio.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I hear that. My 1st requirement was a place that I could pee outside and not have the cops called. Wifey nixed that one fast. We are where we because of the schools and ethnically diverse neighbors. (and we got a great deal!) We're surrounded by a huge farm/ranch but it ain't the country.

my house was first built about 200 years ago as a log on stone, but was more than doubled in balloon frame about 100 years ago. it runs a little over 3K square. the nearest neighbor is just close enuf to shoot, if i cut down some trees first. taking a shower in the rain is an option sometimes exercised. thank god for the country. cookie cutter mcmansion farms are hell.
