Has anyone checked the nutritional info of chain restaurants recently? If you eat there regularly and you have the type of body that can't deal with salt, your life expectancy is in the shitter.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I know it's depressing. They use way the hell too much salt.

That pretty much applies to any and all of them, and possibly many of the mom/pop joints also - it boggles the mind that many items contain up to 150% of daily recommended intake per ITEM! It's appalling and simply mad.

Pizza isn't the healthiest item you can eat no matter where it's made, unless you order one of those shitty vegetarian pizzas with no cheese. ick. Animals must die for a pizza to be tasty, period.

It's easier and cheaper to enhance the taste of the food with salt than using herbs and spices. Have you ever eaten at the Hare Krishna place there in downtown Laguna Beach. I used to eat at one in Culver City - the food is very flavorful but without the sh!tload of sodium that so many restaurants put in their food.

No kidding. I had my arm twisted to go to one of those stupid Olive Garden places at the weekend (mother in law birthday). I had some chicken thing and the first thing I thought when I bit into it is "bloody hell, It's like eating chicken in sea water". When I went home I looked and lo and behold, something like 2000mg of sodium per serving. That's just obscene.

I don't know. I've eaten some veggie pizzas that were full of flavor. I love the taste of pepperoni and sausage, but I can only handle a couple of slices of it before it's too much.

The Thai place I mentioned earlier doesn't taste salty - it may well be ok but you can't know because there is no nutritional info in those places. The only way to be sure you aren't overdoing it is only eating out rarely, mind you that's not a bad idea to be honest.

Olive Garden is obscene. Obscene in every way.

I agree, but it wasn't my choice - not my birthday and sometimes you have to bite the bullet for family, well, once in a blue moon anyway :)
