The Contract from America

August 11, 2010

We, the citizens of the United States of America, call upon those seeking to represent us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support each of its agenda items and advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.

1. Protect the Constitution

2. Reject Cap & Trade

3. Demand a Balanced Budget

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government

6. End Runaway Government Spending

7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care

8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy

9. Stop the Pork

10. Stop the Tax Hikes

Somewhat redundant - 5, 6, 9 (and 3) refer to the same thing.

Most of these have no definitive meaning and quite a few things which should have been on this list, were not.... More sensible immigration policy for one.

Any list which is shy of social issues or divisive issues will be a soulless and fail to gain traction.

Look at number 1. We have an immigration policy! It just needs to be enforced. The liberal progressive twist on it should never poison ones mind :bonk:

Oh good, a vague "contract" filled with nonsensical buzzwords. That's exactly what we need to control politicians. "Protect the constitution", why doesn't it just say "do good things, not bad things"? What a joke.
