Staying in US on Tourist Visa while waiting for K1

I know this is a very common question but I just want to make absolutely sure of the answer. My fiance is from Mexico and already has a tourist visa which is good for another couple of years. He frequently crosses the border into Texas without any problems. We are waiting on our NOA2 and wondering if he can stay with me in the US while we are waiting. I know he will have to return to the consulate in Mexico for the interview, etc. But in the meantime, would it cause any problems with the K1 process if he is in the US? Or is there any paperwork we have to submit to notify them of his location if he were to come here? Thank you!!

It's no problem him being in the USA, no need to notify anyone, but it would be good if someone can keep an eye on his mail just in case things move fast and he gets anything from the embassy. Also, he should bring some evidence of his return, and the NOA1 (or NOA2 if you get it before he travels), to show you guys are planning on doing things the legal way.
