BIRTHDATE QUESTIONS

My wife and i know the years her parents were born but thats it should we put the years and the put N/A like 1948 N/A on the ds-230 or should we just not put a year and put N/A i think on the i-130 we just put the years, i need an anser now my wifes at the cafe, thankss

My fiancé didnt know his parent's birthdates either, he just put the year and wrote "exact date unknown" in small letters beside the year.. And it was approved just fine. Not an uncommon problem.
