Help - N-400 No RFE Step

I have sent my N-400 paperwork on July 15 and received the NOA on July 22

When I check the status online I had the following steps :

Acceptance

*Initial Review

Request For Evidence

Testing and Interview

Decision

Post Decision Activity

Oath Ceremony

on July 24 the case was touched and the "Request For Evidence" step is no longer there - since then I haven't received any mail or any updates and I am worried

Could you guys please check if you have the "Request For Evidence" step - and for those who do not have this step - did they still receive the biometric appointment or just the Interview letter

note : I have a GC by marriage and last removed my conditions a year ago

Biometrics are usually valid for 16 months (If my memory serves me correctly), so if they determined that the current ones they have for you are still valid, then they will not send you a biometrics notice. However, there is a backlog with biometrics appointments and you have applied just around 3 weeks now, so there is still time before you get worried.

The online system is not very reliable and it seems like they are updating it (hopefully to improve) based on recent activity. Many people reported some missing steps in their profiles.

My last comment is if you don't receive anything for 30 days (so around August 15), call USCIS and place a service request for biometrics and see what answer they will give you.

We have very similar Timelines! I didn't pay super close attention but I do believe I had a RFE circle also when I first added our case for updates online. The case was touched on July 27 but it still says the same thing, that the application was received on July 19. No RFE option now. No Bio appointment letter either.

The NOA letter just says "Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office." Does anyone's NOA mention biometrics?

I have checked my case status as well, it's exactly the way you r describing... couple days ago my case was on initial review, right after that step there was "Request for evidence" THEN was " testing interview"

now there is no "Request for evidence" section on my profile.. Iam on initial review and right after that "testing and interview " and other steps comes..

ELW, I also checked my NOA it's also exactly like what you described....nothing mentioned for bio appointment notice. ..it just says " Upon receipt of all required record checks you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office...

ELW i hope this is just about what you mentioned to me on JULY applicants section.. if they r not gonna send us biometric notice because we had fingerprinted less than a year ago then that's fine..I am gonna stop worrying over it:))

maybe we should ask to people who got their FP notice about what their initial NOA was saying..whether it's same like ours or does it mention anything about biometric appointment.

Can anyone someone else in our state "Initial Review" but applying for citizenship NOT based on marriage share his online status with us

Do you still have the "RFE" step?

Does you NOA says "Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office" or any mentioning of Biometrics in the NOA letter?

Same here. The RFE circle is not there anymore. I did FP 08/28/2009 and filed 07/16/2010. Looks like there wont be any FP.

Someone answered on the July filers topic, that they did biometrics only 10 months before filing for citizenship, and still got their FP notice. So...

Usually the ones that have to do that are the ones that need to drive several hours to get to the ASC. What else can be more inconvenient?!?!

Thanks for sharing that... with USCIS, nothing is predictable and we should just follow the normal path

Today, I saw that the circle RFE was back on my case study. It was colored in so I guess the USCIS sent me the letter for my FP. I didn't get an email though...

My first NOA does indeed say the above. Nothing about biometrics. A couple of minutes ago I received an email mentioning the following: "On August 5, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires."

I guess they sent me an invitation for my biometrics. Must be coming soon. I'll let you know.
