Hello everyone.. I really need the help of all FILIPINOS here who had an experiences in Bringing your pet to USA.

I would like to know the route you took, because I heard it is very complicated specially if your first stops would be JP and HK, customs for those countries required specific permit which obtained from them.

I would like to know what you did? and what happened at the custom?

What would be the best route with no issues at the custom..

My pet is a chihuahua 2kgs.. too tiny to be shipped, I would like to have him as check in luggage or in the cabin with me.

Pls Help....

For chihuahua, you have to buy her own ticket though she would be staying under the seat in front of you. There is a shipping dog company here in the US that arrange papers for travel of dogs. I forgot the name, try to google it. The company arranges papers for pets travelling abroad.

I have no problems with airlines, most of airlines accept pets

The PROBLEM IS THE CUSTOM AND QUARANTINE.

The best route to go... from PH to USA avoiding JP and HK.. I know GUAM and Hawaii has quarantine...

Oh well I got an answer to my own question..

Anyway.. let me share for others to keep them as thier guide..

Pls note that: If you are travellig to the United States and you have multi-stops,

your pet won't be quarantined or be checked in with the customs but the final destination.

If you have lay overs for example in Guam or Hawaii-- you will just pass through since you have

connecting flights. The problem would be only be at the final destination wether that specific state

wiill quarantine your pet or not.

I disagree with this post. The main concern is the POE not the final destination.

This was the advised provided to me by the Airport Quarantine of Guam and Hawaii when I called them I

did not read links or info's from people online but called the airport quarantin and customs for Guam and

Hawaii.. people may just call directly because cases varies...

I would advised a call than reading online to make sure you will be able to discuss with the officer at the customs

about your case/situation.

Since my flights were connecting flights from MNL-GUAM-HAWAII-NY

I was told that as long as it is lay over and I am not staying in Guam the airlines should keep

the pet for me and I was even told to check with the custom quarantine in NY and not them, same thing

When I called Hawaii Custom.

The link you provided provide information as GENERAL and not as detailed. It did not provide a direct answer to every situations.

Like I said -- I am flying multi-stops MNL-GUAM-HAWAII- NY with 1 to 2hrs lay over for each stops.

in this case according to the Guam Quarantine officer as long as "it is just lay over" and not a migrant case to where

me and my pet will live and stay in GUAM, they will not quarantine my pet in GUAM but instead check with

New York State Quarantine policy since that will be the state my and my pet wil live. They could either quarantine my dog in NY.

I did not say nor mentioned here that there will not be quarantined.. people who are moving to Guam and Hawaii-- requires your pet

for thier quarantine program, I just don't know with the other states. Guam and Hawaii have strict policy to the pet moving in thier territory.

People if you're final destination is GUAM OR HAWAII-- pls follow http://hawaii.gov/hdoa/ai/aqs/info and for GUAM http://ns.gov.gu/pets.html

Here's some information you will need if you are moving to Guam and you desire to relocate pets --from the website.

it's clear.. MOVING TO GUAM. I am not moving to GUAM. I am moving to NEW YORK.

If your pet is laying over in Honolulu for a period less than 24 hours,

you must call the Animal Port in advance of your arrival to schedule them to house your pet.

The phone number for Animal Port is (808) 833-2049 (808) 833-2049or (808) 946-2187 (808) 946-2187 ext. 2.

Animal Port is a service provided by the Hawaiian Humane Society and is not affiliated with the State Animal Quarantine program.

Called this #.. and I was told lay overs of 1 to 2hrs does not require a quarantine.
