Fiance Visa

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if anyone could breakdown the time it would take to apply for the fiance visa and also breakdown the forms into who sends what where and the time between them if possible PLEASE :)

To get you started, I suggest reading the guide that VJ provides. They also include example forms so it's clear how to fill them out. The guide isn't completely up to date, but the process for getting started is accurate.

As for the timeline, it depends. It depends on the consulate, on the mail, on whether they need more evidence, on all kinds of things. Nobody can tell you for sure how long it will take for the whole process.

10/06/2005 Met in Ireland while I was on a study abroad

03/15/2010 K-1 NOA1

05/27/2010 K-1 NOA2

09/10/2010 K-1 Interview

09/22/2010 POE

10/01/2010 Wedding

10/27/2010 AOS/EAD/AP NOA1s

12/22/2010 EAD/AP Approved

04/05/2011 AOS Approved - no interview

04/09/2011 Green Card received

01/24/2013 ROC NOA1

06/28/2013 ROC Approved - no interview

07/05/2013 10-year Green Card received

08/19/2014 N-400 NOA

12/06/2014 N-400 Interview

01/09/2014 Naturalization ceremony

My husband is now a US Citizen! Our journey is over!

One more question, when would I be able to move into my fiancee's home, after what stage am I allowed to move to USA and marry.

After your visa is approved and issued, you have 6 months to come to the US.

10/27/09 - Met online

04/21/10 - Travel to Egypt to meet in person

05/08/10 - Sent I-129F

05/10/10 - VSC receives I-129F

05/11/10 - NOA1

05/13/10 - Touched

05/14/10 - Touched

05/17/10 - Received NOA1 in the mail

07/06/10 - NOA2 - Approved!!!! :)

07/12/10 - Received NOA2 in the mail

07/13/10 - Received at NVC

07/16/10 - NVC changes embassy per our request

07/19/10 - Told we are in AP @ NVC

07/30/10 - Case sent to Cairo embassy

08/05/10 - Case received at embassy

09/07/10 - Received packet 3 - FINALLY!!!

09/15-10 - 2nd trip to Egypt, returned home on 10/5/10

12/14/10 - Received interview date

01/09/11 - 3rd trip to Egypt

01/12/11 - Interview - APPROVED!!!...but AP

01/24/11 - Returned to the states without my habibi :(

04/06/11 - AP was completed!! :)

05/10/11 - Visa has been issued!!!

Once you get your Visa in hand you can move to your fiance. You will have 90 days to get married once you enter the US.
