Hi all,

I have a question re the interview. I am planning on taking a file of evidence of our relationship, I have printed skype transcripts and emails and have plane tickets etc. I also want to include photos but am wondering how to present them. Should I jsut take a photo album of a mix eg ones of the 2 of us as well as ones of scenery and me with friends to make it look like a regular album. Or should I have an album jsut of us. I dont want it to look too 'prepared' if that makes sense. I am worreid they will think lots of photos of us together will look too 'posed' I have photos of us with groups of friends too, and family. Maybe I should just take an envelopd of 4-5? I don't know, so any suggestions or past stories would be great. I have read some reviews that people weren't even asked for relationship evidence like this but I want to be prepared just in cse.

Thank you :)

Oh, sister. There's been a misunderstanding. Photos are important at this stage. Just gather a minimum of 50 photos. Maybe more. I'm planning to take at least 100. Because they do look over your evidence. It's ok to have a photo album with photos of you and your fiance together. Photos of both of you with family. Per example: A photo of you and his mother or a photo of him and your mother or any other relative. But taken at the same place. Photos from your time together. Don't take photos of you and your family that don't include him around. And it's not true that you can take too much and look too "posed". You should take as much as you please, to feel confident. They will probably ask you if he knows your family or if you know his family and that's when you can add something like: "Oh, sure, we've got pictures there showing we have met each other's relatives. " :P :P

To my interview in London I took emails, letters, googletalk transcripts and 5 photos.

None of which were looked at. No really, not even once was I required to present them even though they were offered.

So just print out a few photos and add them to your evidence. What you should really concentrate on is having all of the financial evidence sorted and that all required forms are completed. This is the real area of downfall for people. I would also have handy a copy of the original information you sent with your I-129f app. The interviewing officer couldn't find my husbands divorce certificate from his previous marriage and had I not had a copy on my person, I would have had to submit further evidence.

EDIT: The above poster is dealing with a different consulate and therefore your evidence should be tailored to the consulate you are interviewing at.

Definitely concentrate on the financial info required (tax return, form, W2, payslips) and having original copies of certificates in case they've lost them. They didn't seem to be interested in proof of relationship - I guess that is what is assessed at the USCIS stage. I took photos / emails etc and they didn't want to see them. Just make sure all of your evidence for support is in order and you'll be fine.
