My wife and I have nearly completed our package to send to the chicago lockbox, we are a little worried that we are sending too much, the pack is beginning to look like a telephone directory, after reading all the RFE threads we just don't want to take any chances but we are afraid that if we send too much info and evidence it may just be skimmed over rather than read carefully. How much is too much? How many photo's, receipts etc did you guys send?

Regards

Andy and Alicia

We sent no extra evidence, besides our marriage cert (of course) and we are at the Consulate stage, no RFE's to date *knock on wood*

That being said, I know alot of people on VJ front load their applications with evidence of their relationship. Hopefully someone will come along that has done the same as you and give you some help.

Good luck!

Well Im doing a K-1, not a CR-1/IR-1, however I sent over 400 pages of documents when I submited my I-129F. Since you are married and sending your marriage certificate they will know you have met, but I sent whatever documentation I could to prove that we had met, along with a copy of my full passport and birth certificate. I also frontloaded with all of my supporting documentation of the relationship (this is mostly what all of the paper was), but I think this depends on the embassy you will be going thru. Some embassy's have higher fraud rates so they scrutinize more, so in these cases it is adviced to front load your petition. Also, I broke all of my information into section and seperated by sticky tabs...top was the petition and other required forms, followed by proof of meeting, passport, etc... and lastly was the proof of relationship. Hope this helps and good luck!!!!

Are sticky tabs and post-it-notes acceptable? This would be perfect as we are finding difficult on how best to present all this information.

Yes I used them and made it thru USCIS without any problems.

Good point! All we sent in was three notarized affidavits from friends and family and were approved no problem. I had 10 years of evidence at our interview and wan't asked for any of it!

However, you need to be comfortable with what you submit; you know your situation best. mandyu1's suggestions for organizing the evidence sounds good.

Good luck!

I didn't send a lot of evidence with our I-130, but some. Along with all the required documents I sent the sworn affidavits from our wedding sponsors/witnesses, photo copies of our MasterCard statement showing the usage by she and I there in the Philippines and photocopies of my visa extension, boarding passes and hotel receipts. I just tried to include stuff that proved I was there and we were married during my stay. I saved all the rest for the NVC stage.

How about folders to present all the information in and plastic document wallets etc. Are they acceptable?

I think that would make things too difficult for them to access. I would stick with the tabs.

This link might help.
