I-130 Section C Help!

Ok so my husband and I mailed in our I-130 and it was returned to us. Saying that section C was incomplete. We figured it was because he left the "address you last lived together at" blank. SO, we went ahead and filled it out again and filled in that part with N/A. Sent it in again, and again it was sent back saying section C is incomplete. What are we missing? Everything is either filled in or N/A was put in! We are now a month behind in our paperwork because it takes 2 weeks for them to get it back to us! Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Why are u refering to it as N/A. Evan you have stayed with u r husband for few days at an address where u guys last been together, put that address as the place u stayed with him.

Could it be they are referring to Question #22, "If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in"??

This was confusing to me because the question above states, "Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in". For us this would be N/A. But according to the sample guide, the question below that had the consular post name typed in.

I was with my husband for two weeks, but the last address we lived together would be N/A or None...IMO two weeks is not living together.

Perhaps someone else with more knowledge can respond, or maybe call USCIS and ask?

I totally agree with Aya820.

Visiting is not living together! I visited my husband numerous times for periods of up to a week at a time over 10 years; that is not considered "living together." We answer that question "NONE" and had no issues at all.

I also found question # 22 very confusing, so much so that I left it blank because I wasn't in the US. Obviously not recommened but luckily we were fine and had no issues.

I think you somehow need to get through to USCIS to get clarification.

When I answered this section in I-130, I have filled in the dates i have been with my husband when I last visited. It was just two weeks and I decided to put that in there instead of leaving it blank or putting N/A.

They accepted it without an issue. Its better to contact USCIS and find out what exactly they want you to put in there as putting N/A or leaving it blank was not working for you so far.

he is going to call on Monday for sure. we are so frustrated. we put NA for the living together because we have just visited. He put NA in the adjustment of status thing too because Im not living there so there is no adjustment needed. I wish when they sent the package back they would carify WHICH question instead of just saying "section C Address"

That is a good idea, that way you will know for sure what they want. If you could please post their answer, if you get one, that would be nice as I wonder out of curiousity what the answer is, especially if they are referring to the consular post question.

We are in the same issue papers was sent back to us and it said needs corrections at 1-130 section C but they are not specific which part of the C section needs to be corrected.it seems like you were in the dark they are not precise which part needs to be corrected,its not fair because when they check our papers they are so precised on it but when they gave corrections they will just crush out all the section C and leaving it there for our corrections.

For some reason we didn't notice section C started at question 1. (don't ask... he read it out to me starting at 17 and I didn't look at the form until last night). SO.. would they send it back because for question 2 in section C, because I don't live in an apartment, I live in a house, he left apartment number blank instead of putting N/A in? It seems pretty nit-picky to me... but that's the ONLY other thing we an think of. Hes on hold trying to get through to someone now..

edit: USCIS phone number was no help. the kid told him that might be it, but he couldn't tell for sure and that we could just try it again or he can make an appointment to go talk to someone about it at the help center 3.5 hours away.

thank you for this. I had my husband compare it to ours and we still cannot figure out what we missed I think hes going to try it one more time and if it doesnt work he will make an appointment in memphis. Whatever it is, Ill make sure to update as soon as we know.

Section C is all the Information about your relative and starts to the right of section B (Information about you) and continues on the next page.

I have the same issue with my I-130 for my wife. They sent back stating Section C Address was incomplete. The Address I have for her is complete, so maybe there is something else i need to fix as well. I called Customer Service to talk with them and get a more definite answer and he directed me to E-mail Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov. I emailed them monday and have yet to get a responce. I'm going to go ahead and recheck today and send again, Hopefully with a more positive responce. I'll let you know how it turns out.
