I refuse to read the books. I hate hype and refuse to partake in it!

Buffy was always actually pretty clever in its own way and did grow as Buffy aged: it got darker and more adult in nature. I actually think it is one of the best TV series ever shown. And then there is Angel too, which I always loved.

Yeah I got my MIL into Buffy, she had a really hard time with the first season because it was so juvenile but really loved it from then on.

Only ever saw Season 1 of Angel.

He (and others) are engaged in non-offensive, idle chit-chat. Why does that warrant closing the thread?

My ex used to watch Buffy, so I had to be too macho to watch it, naturally. However, after a couple seasons, I did start watching it. I can't tell you much about it now, but I do remember that it was much better than I had thought it would be.

I didn't much care for Angel though...Buffy was just too cool for a spin-off
