How quickly does USCIS update their case status website?

Hi guys,

Around the last week of June this year, I received a letter indicating that they had updated my petitions (for wife and 2 minor sons) from an LPR to a USC petition. I checked the status on the receipt numbers for my petition on the USCIS website, but it still indicates on there that it is an "immigrant petition". I called USCIS to ask why it was still showing immigrant petition instead of a US citizen petition. I was transferred to their next level customer support. The lady i spoke with at the 2nd tier support just pretty much said that it doesn't matter what the website says, since i received a letter of confirmation, my petition is updated based on those letters. She did not even ask my any questions or look into my case information. She said that the website has just not been updated yet.

I'm just apprehensive about the answer i was given, so i was wondering if any of the VJ members know how long does it take USCIS to update their website when it comes to checking your case info? Isn't it whatever info is in their system for a receipt number is the one that gets pulled when you check status online?

Any input you guys and dolls might have on this is greatly appreciated!

My case has not been updated since the Initial Review back in May, but I have an interview letter, so I think what the person told you is probably right, however there are others on this board that could correct me.

The short answer is that the website might never be updated..

Several people have received approvals, etc. without ever seeing the website change from 'Initial review' status.

If you have the letter, you are fine.

You're welcome Yeah not too fond of the USCIS website, doesn't seem too reliable to me and that really annoys me, but oh well.

thanks. yeah the wife asked me why I use that name. first answer i told her was because her and the kids were not with me...that i felt lost not being with them every day. needless to say, i got major brownie points for that quick answer

but i do have to agree with you...i guess there's just some of us that feels that way. what can i tell ya...we're a rare breed my friend
