Can we send I-864 and Ds-230 together in the same package?

Hello Guys,

My sister (the US Citizen) is already in the advance stage of the petition for my mom and dad. The I-130 for both is approved and she already paid for the I-864 and we have the NVC cover letter (with the bar code) for that. But we are so confused because she didn't receive a cover letter with a bar code for the DS-230 so we are thinking to send both forms in the same package of the I-864. Is that OK?

Do we need a separate NVC cover letter with the bar code for the DS-230?

Any way to check the status of the NVC online? (both NVC case numbers start with CRS)

Thank you!

Wait. She has the barcoded sheet for the affidavit of support, but not for the DS-230 packet. Right? Did she pay the IV Bill already? It takes 2-3 days for the transaction to process and she should get a barcoded sheet for the DS-230 packet. If I'm not mistaken, they go to different addresses (or the room numbers are different). You can't check the status of your file at the NVC online. When they finish processing the case, you won't be able to access the NVC account anymore. Sign in failure is an indication that NVC has completed the processing of your case.

The I-864 and DS-230 go to 2 different addresses. The I-864 goes to the 32 Rochester Avenue and the DS-230 goes to 31 Rochester Avenue... Once the $400 IV bill is paid, it takes a few days usually up to 3 days to clear and then you need to go back in the print or email the cover sheet to attach to the packet.

AOS postal adress :

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR AOS

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 038012909

DS 230 postal adress :

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 038012909

So its same adress, only difference is in attention of whom is delivered.

But I dont suggest anything, I dont know if it's better to send the documents in the same envelope. If you try this, make 2 separate folders, at least put in 2 transparent plastic folders, with the coversheet first page in each folders.

Yes, you may send both in the same envelope at the same time. I just waited until I had both barcodes and used standard mail in 12/08. There was no trouble in having both processed correctly. As I recall, I used the Attn: CMR AOS, but it likely doesn't matter.
