Middle Name Changed on Marriage Certificate

When I married my wife in the US they said that she can change her middle name on the marriage certificate in the traditional Filipino way. Meaning that her maiden name now became her middle name with my last name.

Before our marriage and on her original birth certificate and passport / Visa she had a different middle name.

Now here's the big question: When we are filling out our AOS forms now after marriage shouldn't we use her original middle name as on her birth certificate and passport Visa ?

or the new middle as reflected on our marriage certificate ?

Thanks very much for knowledgeable answers on this subject. I am sure it has been asked before here.

2/18/10 - moved and changed address on USCIS site

2/19/10 - touched

3/10/10 - NOA2, hardcopy recieved 3/12

3/22/10 - USEM recieved

4/19/10 - Passed Medical

4/28/10 - Interview - Approved

4/30/10 - Picked up Visa and completed CFO

5/5/10 - POE - Honolulu, Hawaii

5/6/10 - married in Hawaii

7/8/10 - received SSN Card

7/16/10 - reported US marriage for RP records

10/18/10 - AOS delivered in Chicago

10/25/10 - NOA1

11/04/10 - Biometrics Letter Received

11/23/10 - Biometrics Completed

11/24/10 - touched

11/26/10 - touched

02/14/11 - AOS approved at Interview, GC ordered

02/22/11 - GC arrives in mail

ROC Timeline:

12/17/12 - I-751 sent to California Service Center

12/20/12 - NOA1 arrives in mail

1/14/13 - Biometrics appointment

4/11/13 - RC Approved at Interview

4/22/13 - 10 Year Green Card arrived in mail

My wife changed the spelling of her first name, adopted a middle name and changed her last name. We filed AOS in the new names per the marriage certificate as that is what she wanted on her green card.

I used the name that i signed on my marriage certificate. The traditional Filipino way. My maiden name as my middle name now and my husband's surname as my last. I think would not be a problem, because you would be submitting a copy of your marriage certificate with the AOS packet to support that. I used my new name on my SSN as well. smile.gif

July 14, 2010 - EAD approved, for card production

July 19, 2010 - Received AP in the mail

July 21, 2010 - I-485 GC approved, for card production

July 26, 2010 - Welcome letter received

July 28, 2010 - EAD card received

July 31, 2010 - Greencard received

Removal of Conditions

May 7, 2012 - Date Filed I-751

May 9, 2012 - Date of NOA!

June 8, 2012 - Biometrics Schedule
