Funny thing, Guangzhou called as she was preparing to go to HK to spend the night before her flight.

She went to the swabbing in Guangzhou and changed her ticket to an open ticket.

I dont know where she heard it from but she said the people in the consulate hinted that it might be three more weeks and her son would get the visa.

So she is staying in China for another month.

i dont know, but i cant imagine this whole process being so fast.........there will be a delay somewhere......

sorry for the confusion. while she was swabbing with everyone else, she overheard everyone else "not consulate employees" that the dna process should take about one month to complete.

that is why she is staying in china for another month.

Guangzhou received the DNA Test results, now its the waiting game.................

I think all of the complaining okie2 did, about dna testing, paid off for your MIL.

IMO, the 'next official piece of correspondence'

will be a 'call in letter'

- after the DNA study is finished, and it's proven to be her child

then GUZ IV will send this thing to the child's address

and it will allow child to come into to GUZ IV unit , drop off passport, and wait some days for the visa stamp to be put into the passport.

it's not an appointment letter, per se -

but - gets child into the IV unit on certain days of the week, certain time blocks.

finally got the letter from GZO, but unforunately the medical has expired and total shut down in China for New Years.

So............POE expected Mid April 2011 at JFK.

the medical has expired? oh - that's just too funny.

should be able to get another one after the 15th, email GUZ IV to let them know a new one is in hand.
