Dear All,

Hello! it's my first time here and i would like to ask for help. I am confused regarding the poverty guidelines to petition an alien finace/e (Evidence of financial support). i checked the latest and i noticed that it has different requirements for different number of family members. My fiance lives alone, and we both have no kids of our own, is he required to have a minimum income for Family of 1($10,830) or for Family of 2 ($14,570)?

Another thing is the Proof of Fiancee Relationship. I know we're required by law to show proof that we have met at least once within 2 years of filing the petition. He is in US and I am currently in Jeddah. The last time we were together was over 2 years ago. Can we meet somewhere else other than my country of origin (Philippines) or do we really have to go home to my country to qualify for this?

Anybody in here who has been through this or who knows the answers, please help. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Neither. Unless he's in the military, he needs 125% of the poverty guidelines for his household size. That would INCLUDE the intending immigrant. From what you say, his household size is 2. This means his minimum income needs to $18,212.

Another thing is the Proof of Fiancee Relationship. I know we're required by law to show proof that we have met at least once within 2 years of filing the petition. You can meet anywhere, as long as you meet face-to-face.
