please help on mom's case

hey guys..my mom is here with me in the US last May 9 she got her greencard about two weeks ago..but, we never got her SS card...on DS230 she check that portion where it asked if we want to request for SS card and number...anybody knows how long will she get her SS card? or is there anything we can do about it? her port of entry was San Francisco. thanks a lot.

Go to the nearest SS office and apply in person. That check on the form for SSN rarely works.

thanks for the reply.

If i go to the SS office will they know if a SS number was assigned to my mom? im just a lil worried that if I go apply for her number they might assigned her already and was lost in the mail...i just want to avoid error that two numbers will be assigned for my mom.
