when come to the K-i visa interview. Do I have a wedding planed and dated in the U.S. before I get approved? As I know after the Visa have been issued, my fiance and I will three months in the U.S. to set up the wedding. Is it a problem if I don't have a wedding planed ahead in the U.S. to show the Interview office or it is not a big deal.

PS: Affidavit of support. Do i have to have certain amount of money saved in my bank account for K-1 visa? I don't have money saved in my bank would that be a problem? will the office reject my petition by that?

1. make general plans, but dont put money on anything... that way its been discussed and she will have some form of response if asked.

2. with the amount that you make.. no need to note anything about assets or debts..

No plan needed. They may remind you that you have only 90 days after arrival in the US to get married but remember that plans can be made after you receive the visa because you have six months available to do the planning after the visa is issued if you want to wait that long before coming to the US.

Money in the bank is not an issue as long as you have sufficient income. Many Americans have big incomes and no savings..

HCMC consulate has denied many cases for not having wedding plans as one of the reasons for denial... this is not good advice given the consulate

My fiance was asked if she knew we had to have wedding in 90 days she did not know this. Make plans but spend no money. She HAS to know date, place, who's invited, and destination of honeymoon. My fiance was grilled on all this and failed. I urge you to take the wedding and honeymoon seriously!!!!!!!!!!!! A printed invitation in CO's hand would be helpful make it 4-5 months from date of interview. It is far better to be prepared for this line of questioning and not need it than to be denied for lack of wedding plans. She has to know this exactly as your written information submitted for wedding.. Take it from someone who got denied because of it. If she does not know honeymoon date and destination and wedding details it is an automatic blue and you have another 2 years to get to another interview.

Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary? If you are the foreign fiancee, the beneficiary, a bank statement for you won't be necessary. Your fiance, the USC, has to send you the I-134 and the financial supporting evidence. He needs to have income tax returns, pay stubs, letter from his employer and bank statement. But I don't think there should be problems if he doesn't have savings.

When the Consulate will mail you the Packet 3, you'll find all the details about different ways of showing your financial situation inside. Those options are for the petitioner, the USC, as far as I know.

You're free to correct my misunderstandings, if that's the case.

P.S.: Can someone tell me if it's ok to say: We plan to get married as soon as possible, within 90 days.? Or do we have to put a date on that? Many thanks.
