Hi guys!

I need an advice for the visa interview. Just wanted to know what kind of papers do I need in order to proof that I have a real marriage with my wife.

She is still a student, does not have any income and lives with her parents. I also just graduated and now I am waiting for my work permission.

1)

I know I need to have a joint bank account. We already set one up, but we also have our own seperate accounts. Little daily purchases (like gas for the car or groceriers) we pay from our own seperate accounts. Should we start doing it from the joint account? As I said we don't have so much money. My wife also got financial aid for school, since I don't work yet. The money will go to the joint account and we will pay her tuition from this account.

2)

I am living with my wife and her parents. Since they own the house I am not on the lease. What kind of paper should I provide? Is it enough when the parents write a short letter saying that I life with their daughter at their house?

3)

My wife has an insurance through her parents. I have an insurance in Germany (overseas insurance). I want to get an insurance in the U.S. once I start working for me and my wife. So we don't have the same insurance yet. Is this a big deal for the USCIS?

What kind of documents should I also collect????

thanks for the advice

So we don't have the same insurance yet. Is this a big deal for the USCIS? No. But it's likely since your wife is now your WIFE she is no longer covered under your parents policy (i.e. she's married so sometimes that matter. Make sure they check their policy. If it makes good financial sense to not be on the same, oh well

What kind of documents should I also collect???? There are 20 million posts like this. Please do a search using the search function up the top on the right under your profile

thanks for the advice

I thought your name was Adam....

also: Please update your timeline so others can benefit from your experience and your profile to reflect that you are now AOS (pending) and what your country is. The timeline function is up the top called "immigration timelines". To update your profile click on "settings" (up the top right of the page) then the "profile" tab, then "change profile information" (which should be the default one that opens). Then scroll down to Immigration status where it currently says "N/A" and change it to "AOS (pending)", there should be a section there also to select the beneficiaries country.
