Not in the system?

So I called USCIS yesterday(Day 30 since POE) since I hadn't received my 'Welcome Letter' or GC yet -- she asked for my A# and said I wasn't 'even in the system' yet. ####### is up with that? Does that mean Chicago hasn't even sent them the paperwork yet? She said to call back in another week or two.

I also called the local Social Security Office since it's been 14 days since I applied for my SS card to be updated and haven't received it yet. They said it should have come in 7-10 days and that they will have to 're-input' it on Monday again. (I then called the national helpline and they could see that the request had been made on 6/4 and that hopefully, it'll come in a week or two. They said the ones that need to be verified with the DHS takes a little bit longer.)

Is there a link b/w the two--I guess the SSA has to verify the A# with DHS, and now if USCIS has no record of me in the system, they can't issue the card either?

ARGH. Is there anything I can do or should be doing? Apart from wait and be on hold? Any thoughts?

hey sachi i went with my parents for the interview and guess wat?? they asked me to get my medicals done and get back to embassy any working day at 7.30am in the morning after paying the vfs courier fee and i also need to fill in ds230 and all necessary documents and take them with me but there is a little problem...

my sister who is in the USA right now for her student visa. the CO asked my dad to call her to india and also asked to pay the VISA FEE, get MEDICALS done and collect PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE,BIRTH CERTI..she is having a legal student visa status but i am tensed coz i think that the embassy is framing here to deny her entry to u.s.a.. when we filled the student visa application for her, there was a question in that which said "has a petition been kept on your behalf?" to which we replied NO because technically the petition is not on her behalf coz my aunt did petition my mom and not my sister ..so the petition is not on her behalf.

my mom and dad were done with the interview on 18th,oath taken,ds230-part 2 signed and the CO mentioned on 221g letter that ME & SISTER NEEDS TO ATTEND THE INTERVIEW AND GET BIOMETRICS DONE ANYDAY..and that we need to take the passport for our parents for stamping the visa on the day we appear for the interview because parents visa wasnt stamped on the day of interview...

now my sister is coming back to india and she has a legal student visa status with no crime and no fraud...would have any impact on the visa??as far as my case is concerned i am done with the visa thing...

please help me coz i feel my sister is in trouble because if she returns to india the embassy wont allow her to enter again..she is maintaining a legal status right now...no problems with that..

At POE, did you double check with the IO that you're in the SAVE system? That needs to be updated for you to "show".

I read on here someone posted that info and that's what I asked when I POE-ed. Same with my friend who just came to Chicago last week - she made sure she was updated in the SAVE before she left POE.

Could you give O'Hare CBP a call? There should be a number on their website - I called twice for a friend about visas and they were very helpful.

Uff, I called O'Hare CBP to see what's going on. I asked if I was in the SAVE system and if it had been updated. She said she wouldn't be able to disclose that information and that it can take upto a year to get the greencard. She said the visa is valid for a year since it's now stamped. Then she said some other BS about 'airports being busy' -- DUH.

I called USCIS today. They said card production has definitely NOT been ordered.

They suggested waiting for another week or two and then making an INFOPass appointment to see what's going on.

The guy also said that there's a possibility that the airport has not sent them the package yet.
