AP question

Hi all,

I'm expecting my AP any day now. My question is - what is the validity period for the AP? In the application I asked for dates in 2011 because I didn't know how long it would be take to arrive. But now I actually have a semi-emergency which will require me to go to India for a short period.

So I'm wondering if the AP will be valid for the dates in 2011 (by which time I think I'll get my GC anyway) or if it'll be valid from the date I receive it.

Your AP should be valid as soon as you get it regardless of the dates you put in your application. Once you receive your green card, you don't need AP and it is canceled. I am not sure about the validity period but I think it is one year and can be renewed if you have not received your green card yet. SOmeone can correct me if that is not right.
