Hi!

i'm going to have my k1 visa interview on 27 Feb! Thanks for all your help during this long period.

Now i've another question again. For those who have had interview, I'd like to know if you're asked about your detailed wedding plan?

we dont have a detailed wedding plan cuz we're not sure about the interview. Actually i havent even booked the ticket to the US yet cuz we're really not sure if the interview is ok or not. but i did hope that i'll fly to the US in May and maybe we'll get married some time in June/July. Also we wont be having a grand wedding banquet ... that's why we dont have any detailed plan yet...

if so, would it be ok? what do you think? i'm just so nervous!

Thanks.

Marlene was only asked if I gave her an engagement ring and if she already had travel plans. There's no way to tell what questions you may be asked at the interview. It varies with each case. I'm sure they understand that it's not easy to make definite plans for a wedding under these conditions. If they ask about your wedding plans, just be honest and tell them what you've said here.

Thanks for the compliment on the photo.

How did you take wedding pics if you aren't married yet?

If you submit photos that indicate you may already be married, you may run into problems with your K1 visa.

An interesting question... are you married or not... if you went through a marriage ceremony, you may be legally married even if you did not record it.

oh taking wedding pics PRIOR to marriage is a custom in HK. People in here usually take pics LONG BEFORE they really get married.

let me tell u a bit more... it's like 2 people wearing in those 'wedding costumes' to take some beautiful pics inside/outside

so... maybe i shouldnt show them a few of those pics?

Definitely do NOT show those pics...Don't show them to any government employee anywhere. And don't bring them in your luggage when she enters the US...

Hate to give people the wrong idea...

When Marlene and I were first engaged and decided to go the K1 route, we said some private/unofficial vows to each other and bought a pair of matching rings to wear and would refer to each other as "asawa" (spouse). Later, when we were preparing photos and emails for the interview, I realized we needed to separate out those photos that showed the rings and emails where we used the "asawa" term. We were not legally married and certainly didn't want to give any impression to the consulate that we were. If the consulate suspects that there is a chance you may have gotten married they will not issue a K1 visa until the matter is cleared up to their satisfaction which may include a significant wait in Administrative Review after the interview.
