A month would be more than the usual "Ukrainian 3 weeks" but yes, you can do it now. The consulate will accept it for up to one year from when it was dated.

You can pay a extra fee and it does speed things up. It cost about ten dollars US.

I told Vika to go ahead and pay the "expedite fee" too. She refused, and said she would rather stand in the line. I don't remember if she actually did it or not though.

Alla was blatantly told to pay an extra $10 (50 UAH at the time) and she would "get it sooner" We didn;t need it sooner because we got it ahead of time, we actually got it before we filed the petition. Alla doesn;t mind paying bribes...she HATES when they ask her for one! Bribes are supposed to be paid when it benefits YOU to pay them. Have they no understanding of how this works???? (That was exact response) She waited 3 weeks. we had the police certificate in March and our interview was in August.

Ukrainian police certificate shave no "expiration date" but they do have a date on which the "reference" was issued. It is valid with the consulate until one year from that date.

Yep, that's what Svetlana did a few days ago. She paid extra to expedite the service. This why I wanted to know when it expires, since we didn't receive NOA2 yet. Gary already answered my question. Thanks everyone. We are good here...Ohh by the way, do we need to translate and notarize it?

No.

Slim, for Kiev it needs to be translated, it does NOT need to be notarized.

They can't read Ukrainian or Russian in Kiev? That's unfortunate.
