I always get a kick out of someone who accuses others of being ignorant and bigoted yet uses stereotypes and labels themselves. You have gone from NAZIs, to hairdressers, to toothless southerners and finally to all Christians. I know you mean well mate, however, you are clearly clueless.

Same with assuming anyone actually wanted this teenager to be shot. I at last feel sympathy for him and believe a wall would have prevented this. You on the other hand focus on this alone and refuse to even acknowledge the havoc illegals reap on Americans - both financial and in terms of crime.

Perhaps you should learn American history and we'll show you a thing about "TRUE" American values and how we feel about those who would dare take one step onto our land. Those who would dare to commit crimes against us. Perhaps talking to the people of Hiroshima or Nagasaki will show you American values and what we do to those who commit atrocities against us. I have visited the US hundreds of times and had an unlimited business visa since 1980 and I have been GC resident in Wisconsin and Florida and Washington State. I have visited most States.

I am aware of the best and the worst and the worst have big mouths and the best are fine people.

There are 40% Hispanic in my town and I like it and I like them.

and for anyone who is interested the State with the lowest percentage of minorities is Maine with 4%

Vermont, West Virginia, New Hampshire, and Iowa all have under 10%

and Hawaii has the highest percentage with 77%

Huh? Perhaps "hate" was a strong word, but I wasn't speaking of myself. I was speaking of the argument that people seem to be making. I don't "hate" illegals. In fact, I'm in love with one, and we're getting married. Does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

My point was, anyone who wants to frame the "anti-illegal" argument as "racist" is lying for one reason or another. Sometimes, I think it's because it's how they attempt to distance themselves from their own fears and views. Other times, it's because they know it's an easy out. How's your debate opponent going to come back from accusations that they're racist? By denying it? "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt," right? hardy har har. Either way, I'm not necessarily talking about YOU, so, don't take my generalized comments so personally.

I should note, the REAL immigration debate that I alluded to is, what can we do to make it easier for people who SHOULD be here, to get legal status. Period. It shouldn't take 10 years for anyone to wait for paperwork. There should be a legal path for people that serve a useful capacity that we can't otherwise fill, or family members of people who are here legally. If we need laborers, bring 'em on. If we need doctors, have at it. If we need astronauts, well, you get the drill. But, as others have suggested, when we've got an unemployment rate of ~10% (if we're including underemployment, that number climbs much, much higher), I don't know that we need more people here at all (unless it's to fund the entitlement programs that are going to sink us otherwise). Instead, we need more Americans to swallow their pride and take a good honest job, even if it pays less or seems "beneath them", to take responsibility for their own lives, instead of waiting for the government to step in and make life pleasant for them.
